How to stop visor from fogging up while night riding in the rain

Hi, 2nd time I have been caught at night in the rain riding Auckland to Tauranga. Now I have a caberg ego helmet with pinlock visor which is great for daylight use. Take it out while riding at night as heard it should not be used at night. My visor is fine if it is not raining at night but last night was annoying as every few seconds I had to open my visor to defog it. I put antifog on my visor which helps alot, but in the rain does stuff all. I can not leave my visor open a little as it just shuts again at highway speeds. Even tho air is seeping in still its not enough to defog it. I was thinking next time I could put some chewing gum between the visor and helmet to keep it open a little as then I will not have to keep opening it. Or is there something I can buy instead of using chewing gum

Yep ... a little plastic spring loaded clothes peg. When not in use on the visor, it clips on one of your brake/clutch lines.

My helmet came with an anti fog lens, it's got the standard lens then a small air pocket and another inner lens. been in pouring rain for an hour no fog, had the visor down most of a day in the sun with no fog. You can try fogging it up and breath heavy and it wont fog up. get an anti fog lens, not the gel stuff

I use my pinlock all the time. Works amazingly well. Ive not had any issues at night, apart from it seems to take some of the glare of cars headlights away. Which is a good thing.

O.k yes I will give it a test next time and see how I go. Also will put the peg idea to test as well.

Mind you I am in need off a new pinlock visor as the gasket edge is wearing in some lower ares which sometimes causes a light foggy area at bottom off pinlock. $50 for a new one, but saying that it has lasted alot of km's

If your worried, put your helmet on and go for a walk down the road. That will show you if it works.

Pinllock, all day, all night, no worries.
Unfortunately the pinlock is softer material and mine has some marks n scratches on it now, some from gloves in helmet, some from dust on gravel roads but I've also had it a long time, will put a new one in soon.

At short notice rub the inside of your visor with fairy liquid or similar, wipe off until virtually clear again. Works a treat but you have to do it every couple of days.
The visor on my Caberg is anti fog & works reasonably well, the sun visor is not & it's pants in the cold & damp.
Pin lock is the permanent fix.

    Get an open face helmet.
