I just use the Pinlock at all times (well, when wearing my clear visor, as I don't have one in the tinted). Works brilliantly.

+1 on this and others who do the same. No idea why they say not to use it at night, so have assumed it is simply a litigation defence to make such a statement.

I see a load better at night in the rain with it in than with it out, and if it's not raining I hardly know it's there. The gasket will also last a lot longer if you are not swapping it in and out so frequently.

Or do the suggested open face but wear a hi-vis jacket. It will surely keep you safe from wind, rain, facial impact and suicidal moths intent on dying up one of your nostrils. Maybe.

Use two cable ties put together round through the visor area to hold it open. Found it a particularly helpful tip on a very wet track-day when wind would close my visor at around 180ish, not gonna pop off accidentally like a peg might either.

I've sat on 210 km/hr (on a closed and private road) in the dead of night on a Chatto Creek 1000 miler rally ... down Canterbury way a few years back. I only needed the one peg. (I did have two spare)

Pinlock is what they should be looking at making compulsory wearing, not bloody high vis vests.

Because they're fucking tough ... and they can't afford a real helmet.

Yep ... 10 minutes into a night ride ... a big fat moth will commit suicide on the visor. Usually in heavy traffic ...
