When I walked into my local gas station this morning one of the two young guys that own the place was talking to his off sider in a language I didn't recognise so I asked him what it was.

He said it was Fasi,an then went on to say he also spoke Punjabi,Arabic and of course English.

When I asked how long it had taken him to learn English he said "1 year,,which would be about right as when I first met him he'd only just bought the place an was pretty hard to understand back then.

As we got talking,he went on to say he'd learnt to speak English mainly from his customers during his day to day work.

So that's 4 languages and owns his own business that he and his brother got most of the funds to buy over 3 years working in the local market gardens,,,which is also where he/they learnt to speak Punjabi.

So,a dumb towel head that's been in NZ less than 10 years,speaks 4 languages,and he and his brother own their own business.

Makes me think,,,You racist wankers really do have a lot to be scared of,,and you show it so well

Well that is quite right. The potential opportunities us white boys turn down, 'cos we don't fancy them, could well be the ones that others from tougher backgrounds embrace with open arms and do whatever they have to make them a success.

In my experience, English speaking European males are one of the least racist groups. Its just that until you travel, and feel out of place in a foreign country, that you realise how racist other peoples are.

Remember racism takes on many forms, from pure hatred, to dislike, distrust, etc. And none of us are exempt from some form or another at some time or another.
