    New speed cameras

Saw a notice on the board at work warning that on Labor weekend the police will be launching its new speed cameras.

These cameras are "size recognizable" so will know the size and combination of the passing vehicle; eg: motorcycle, car, car pulling trailer, large vehicle and if it has a trailer or not.

The notice warned that any vehicle that is a combination, whether its a car pulling a trailer or commercial vehicle that is exceeding the 90km/h speed limit by 5km/h or more WILL receive an infringement.

I'm picking this is the forerunner to making an across the board 5km/h tolerance.

Police have the discretion now to issue tickets for 1 km over the posted limit for all vehicles ..... not just towing and heavy vehicles.

Do not rely on any "tolerance" to keep you ticket free.

I believe some of those more obvious ones with the twin cameras are plate recognition set ups.

Catch the non rego's,no WOF,stolen vehicle, dead plates, ugly women ect ect.

2kms over would put us in line with Oz,got done for 3kms over in a 50 zone,,,couldn't fucken believe it

I can't believe no speed camera vans have been torched at the roadside yet (or have they?)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

What a bugger for those that tow trailers often and try to not hold up traffic by keeping with the flow. I guess it's in the name of safety, right?

These new cameras will probably still be visible and you can avoid tickets. It'll be the point-to-point cameras that will be the shitters
