    More bullying

    this time at secondary school.
Mr13 got dealt to by pair of boys in his form. Knocked out, bruised face/temple, kicked in guts and knee. HAd to stop my day and take him to AnE to get him checked. He's home now with mild concussion, vision has settled to normal and he has just had a bit to eat. Im picking he'll be ok, but it's still a head injury so Im keeping an eye on him.

Fortunatly school is onto it and Im happy they are going to do the right thing. ie stand the boys down for a short time and then do what they are calling a restorative action on the boys part.

Meetings with parents of kids and me then I get to have my say to the boys.

so, had a brief and pointed set of words with them as they were getting marched into the office, but what sorts of things should i be saying when I get my chance next week? Im too angry to say anything sensible right now, but should be calmer by then.
    Suggestions?

Just go in with a few other leather clad 'supporters' and stare menacingly at the little shits for the duration. No words necessary. Alternatively just say that you and your supporters would like to have a private chat with the boys and can we be left alone for 5 minutes.

I think you'll find that the words will come to you over the next few days as things cool off. My method of anything confrontational is to imagine various scenarios in my head, things I'd say, then mentally cull unhelpful stuff, add things that come later (all the good lines come after the event usually!)

You'll be pretty sorted I'd think if you just mull over possible interactions. Write things down; cross them out, add to them - just like preparing a speech!

Sorry to hear about your fella's altercation. Some little toerags out there in the school system, and often schools are hogtied when wanting to deal with volatile situations.

If the Police don't know about it already make sure they do. Anyone using the word "restoritive" isn't helping you, your kid or the apprentice criminals in question.

At 15 or so it's already too late for the criminals, but at least you can let them know what shape their future is going to be.

My immediate reaction would be somewhat over the top as well Ratti...but maybe you could warn them that your friend "Mr Tombolino" will come and visit them..."he likes to breaka da leg..."

On a more serious note, what can you say? They probably think they are shit hot and invulnerable. They may well have support for their attitudes from quite a large peer group and maybe from home as well. Dunno really - I think it depends on the kids when it comes down to it. But I would leave them in no doubt at all that I was pretty pissed with them and would not forget in a hurry...

It is truly a hard thing to deal with.

If you want to get to the truth - lay a complaint with the police

Sad to say, I agree with this. Certainly report it to the Police if you haven't already.

it was unprovoked. A continuation of bullying that had been going on at the intermediate they were at last year.

The shits in question go around hassling everyone, thugs in training methinks. The final straw was today, my son got shoved, snapped, shoved him back and then the other one piled in and they got stuck in. There were a number of kids watching who saw very similar events and the stories are close enough that its pretty obvious who is at fault.

I was offered the choice of going to the police, but I'd like to wait and suss out the parents first. If they are ordinary folk like me then I can cut them a little slack- this time.

I do like the idea of rolling up with my riding gear on, but really? Who wants to be known in the school as' the kid with the biker mum'. It'd be a bit hard on my son. Riding is my choice of recreation and I see no reason to inflict it on the kids. especially Mr13 who is adamant that 'riding is for girls'

I think you have answererd the question. They won't stop unless they are stopped and their parents will be ineffective even if they profess to disapprove. Expect the complaint that they cannot do anything with the boys as "the boys won't listen to them".

You're not doing them any favours by not reporting it to the Police.
