Once you got it all back together again including fixing the reason it was taken to bits in the first place plus replacing all the bits that got lost I'd say about twice the cost of buying one thats all in one piece....

Approach with caution... Do your research and sus out all the special things that make it an R90S and make sure that they are all there. Its not that much different to a normal BMW

Just guessing but I'd say $8K to 12K depending...

They have featured in a few classic features a while back and prices being asked jumped up. Not very often for sale here so compare ebay prices and reduce accordingly. Remember these are asking prices... sale prices are different. For one in bits, $2K to 4K MAX unless you were sure.

    What Paul said...

One sold recently for around 10-12 k, was a tidy runner, a restoration project non runner sold for aobut 6-7 k.
The days of 2-4 k for project ones are gone....unless you are lucky.
Early ones use /5 parts and the later ones use /6 parts, and there are quite a few unique R90s parts.
Ian Falloon had a book on them which may be useful.
Maxheadroom is knowledgeable on R90s you may have seen his at the recent Auckland Show.
Main differences to a R90/6 are:
Unique smoked gray or Daytona Orange paint work.
Bikini fairing with volt meter and clock.
    38mm Dellorto carbs
    Different tank badges
    Early fuel filler cap.
    slightly different handelbar mounts
different engine/frame # series, US and Euro ones are also different.

The ATE brakes can be improved a lot, as can the front forks.
A good alternative is the R100s, one sold recently on Tm for 8K I think....
I race a bitza R90 and they go quite well.
    Good luck with your search
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

    Hi
Old thread but this is most definitely a real R90S.

The matching engine/frame numbers show it is was made in 01/74

    Number is 4072461

Going to throw it back together and sell off as is.

I will never have the time to restore or even just get it back on the road.

    Thanks
    Richard

    Hi
I actually always had the bike.
The original question was what it might be worth in bits if I was looking at selling.

But now I have decided to put it back together and sell it as is.

    Slowly finding all the bits.
