I also think he "has" done his time and shouldn't continue to be punished by our gov't or any other.

Heard on the News that they are Paying 60k to whoever sponsers him coming to NZ... Well - That is 60k I could do without! Thats for sure.

Under our own laws, Anyone that has been convicted of a crime punishable by more than 5 years imprisonment is automatically rejected from entering this country, Let alone obtaining a Visa. So tell me this... Why is it that he has had 6 years served upon him of a crime which he has done and he is being thrown about the table for entering this country...

My views on international borders and people control are a bit different to most others as well.

The fact that the facts are the facts,,,makes no difference to the personal belief,,they stand reguardless.

Is it a case of continued punishment ... or part of the punishment ... ???

The rules of many countries regarding previous court convictions ... that will bar you from entry, are well known. (Aussie is included in this list) The antics of students resulting in court action ... are well documented in the court pages of all the regional newspapers. The future doctors/lawyers often apply for discharge without conviction for that reason. As do many well known members, of well known sports teams, and in both cases ... not often with success. So they can't say they didn't know.

If you apply for a visa to any country ... be honest with your court history ... and if sufficient time between your last conviction ... it may be granted. You wont know for sure ... until you ask.
