New(er) ex RS tyres, an oil change, 'Henk spec' fork oil level, swapped the rear shock (suspect shitter previously in there) and a general going over. It still looks like crap and has terrible low rpm torque but at least it's a slightly polished turd. Looking forward to the GP!
Well that was an interesting weekend of racing!
The suspension updates and time on the 125 certainly have helped my riding and in the first practice day I knocked off some time from my PB from December. At the end of Saturday (dry) I had made 0.7 seconds on my PB for a 44.3s lap. Pretty chuffed on this old hog with stuff all torque.
Sunday was a different scenario with it being only my second ever time riding in the rain and on bucket spec wets (ancient, worn and cracked). I felt confident during practice though and set a decent benchmark for myself in 5th. In the second practice another rider crashed in front of me, leading to me crashing into their bike. I think I fractured my foot because it has swollen up like an apple. At the time it wasn't so sore and I continued anyway. In qualifying I tried to follow Nathanael over the hill when he came through and I slipped the front. I only did 5 laps and in qualifying. Two crashes, blast!
In the GP I starting quite far down the grid, I made up some places to fight with Will for 4th. He slipped past me out of the corner onto the straight and we stayed the same short distance from each other for a run of laps. I ended up throwing it down AGAIN when I changed my line into the last corner, damn it. So three crashes, loads learnt, and the bike still goes. Hopefully the foot heals fast!
The rest of the photos will be up soon but here's one for now of Will and I battling.

Oh yea I'd forgotten about that, ran out of room quicker than I thought.
Mal looks focussed. I look somewhat concerned.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Here's some photos from round 3 of the NZSBK at Hampton Downs recently. Always good to see the buckets giving a few a run for their money. Rick did bloody well considering the low power and kart setup!
I was racing on my RS125 and picked up a shit load of time over the weekend. Best time in the last race was a 1.15.5 which is still off the pace by 2 seconds or so but it's a large step in the right direction! That was about 3 seconds faster than the last time I was at Hampton Downs.

Someone please make sure the Welly riders who don't normally make it up this way see these photos. They were asking about them on the day.

This^ is John passing Kel in a straight line.
Will rode bloody well and kept me honest. I'm just bummed that I binned it before being able to properly mount an attack after he came though.![]()

Churs Simon and Chris,
Photo's are great to have from these meetings when you get to my age as you tend to forget what you had for breakfast.
Simon doesn't post here but he watches the forum and sees all your comments. Brilliant photos indeed, cheers Dad.
