Cheers guys. Bert, was that a camera on the tail of your bike? Wouldn't mind seeing that footage!

A couple more for your reminiscing pleasure:

I figure the number regulations can be applied as an average value across all the numbers on the bike...

Mt Wellington Two Hour Nov 2013

Some photos from the two our team endurance race that went down at Mt Wellington in November. Credit goes to my old man Simon for these photos, I was racing with Karl.

Such a good event, I could barely walk the next day!

    Bike stand

    Hey all

I didn't make the first NI round at Taumarunui because I was driving around the country with mates scoring surf (check www.instagram.com/vancreep) but I'm frothing to get back on the bike for the next round!

When I was away I think the old man got bored and locked himself in the garage because I came home to a new bike stand! Cheers dad. The legs are removable and its big enough to fit the VFR400 on it too.
Something small and alloy arrived in the mail from Japan also

    Fork travel

I noticed that the seals on the FXR forks were leaking the other day. I didn't have any seals on me so I just swapped the forks out with some from the parts FXR. Here's a question I've wanted to ask:

The FXR forks have a butt load of travel to them when you're hard on the brakes, is this alright? It doesn't seem like they bottom out at all. Have many of you had success with changing the springs/oil level/type etc?

Think you will find the springs are coil binding which means you have effectively bottomed out but it is nice and progressive without the sudden clunk.

I put GSXR forks on which we managed to find some aftermarket springs for. Not sure what spring options there are for the FXR, but a set of emulators would not go miss

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Ah yes I was talking to someone about them a while ago and totally forgot I had the convo. I see KSS do emulators:

Anyone use these and can give some comment on them? Also any idea on the right FXR size?

To be honest the stock forks work well enough on an FXR. Get the oil level and weight right and they are pretty damn good. Not as good as cartridge but fit for the application.
    My take anyway.
    Stock is best

You can also get more or less free improvements by changing the damper rod holes (usually weld them over and re drill smaller). I know some experts say that is a bad thing to do blah blah but it works and it is free.
