Does anyone have suggestions on where to find used parts in Christchurch? I'm after a replacement choke cable for my 1988 CBR 250.
The ex used to go to a place somewhere in east Chch, but he never told me where it was.
Any help appreciated!

It's slim pickin's these days as far as Motorcycle wreckers go anywhere in the country now, not like 15 years ago :-(
You could take the choke cable to your local bicycle shop and see if they could make one for you, beyond that ebay in the UK has four listed, not sure what year they are for though.
Google motorcycle wreckers New Zealand. Plenty in NZ. The Christchurch ones got a bit shook up.
Most have an E.mail address/phone number.
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
as mentioned, a quick google will locate several for you.
Worth mentioning though, that there are some cool inventions out there like internet, credit cards, online banking and overnight couriers, which, when utilized together mean you can often get parts from auckland faster than from the other side of town . . .
I used GP wreckers recently from the north island, they were pretty good. Falsgrave in christchurch have an odd selection of bits and bobs, maybe try them? - they usually have a list on their website of what bikes they currently have parts for

He's not bad to deal with.
bike busters in hamilton have so many cbr parts and bike parts.
otherwise getting a choke cable from casbolts or a honda dealer wouldnt be a problem at all. iv got one before for an mc19 it was as cheap as a wrecker wanted for used one so meh. get some new throttle and clutch cables to while ur at it
Depending on the cable and the parts you could always try safe r brakes to see if they can make you a new one from the old parts.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
+1 to Safe R Brakes, they did a good job of making a new handbrake cable for me so they should be able to sort you out.
Thanks for the suggestions. Hampton can't get one in, casbolts don't answer their phone (go figure), Simon (?) from trademe doesn't have any left. Waiting to hear from econo Honda otherwise I'll look into safe r brakes. Thanks!
Place down Falsgrave st (continuation of Fitzgerald Ave) on the corner , he's got a heap of bikes out back, his shop also sells 4wd parts...cant remember the name![]()
Im with HDC on Econohonda.....
but Id steer clear of Falsgrave crowd.Fucked me & a mate on parts so badly that I'll slag 'em on here.![]()
