    Yup - thats fair enough.

Before you do anything drain the oil and see if any bits fall out.....

I told you where to start looking, on the inside of the engine. Compared to your previous start it and listen approach this was very specific. There comes a point in a job where there simply isn't an easy answer. In this case, with the noise you describe, it'll take some spannering and investigation to figure out the cause.
To try and be more specific, take off the tappet and timing covers, check the cam chains are tight, if they aren't tight, also check the timing is correct. Wind it over by hand and feel for any mechanical interference. Also check the compression. That'd be a good start at some investigative disassembly anyway.

And for fucks sake man, a swearword is only what you make of it. If your delicate sensitivities are that easily offended, then find a browser add-on to censor such words. Asking for help, and expecting us to comply with your language preferences, is a bit pushy don't you think?

And a final question, have you started since I told you off? If not, I may have helped a lot more than you'd like to think

People told you that you have to essentially strip the motor, and you ignored them.

there right buddy i got a vt 250 and yes you at least drain the oil then you can see if theres metal in the oil or water for that matter, take of the tappet covers thats easy just have look the cams.

with the cam chains they usually make sound like buzzing about 3000 rpm, no point getting cams tensioneers if con rod bearings are worn though with vt i took of the bottom sump and poked screw driver up to con rods and felt if had alot sideways momemnt.

set cam chains and tensioners will be about 900.00 i got qouted from malcom at encho honda for my vt 250 chains are like 65.00 each

Actually, just to stray of topic for a moment, that sideways movement (lateral) can seem quite excessive on some engines, but it is quite normal.
Worry about the "up n down", (axial) clearance on big end bearings.
    As you were...............

yes your right the vt 500 piston moved alot side to side on the little end (top bearing)

Yes forward and back movement needs some side to side but if alot more than one conrod

I found in the two vt 250 motors same era both rear cylinders where the worn out bearings.

But even someone as non trained as me you know when something not right .

But it chould be totally fine as engine lasted to know so must been one of the better ones

Judging by the elapsed time, and attitude of the OP, I think it is probably quite dead by now
