VF1000f2 not quite dead

further to may last post i found that the engine wasnt seized , I managed to get it her started again and it runs . It is making a real rattle similar to something floating around . It is really quite noisey and have only re started to investage . Can anyone advise would a cam chain and or stripped tensioner cause this. Bearing in mind the bike starts and runs . Any advise would be appreciated.

It could. (In my opinion only) ...

Being a V-twin ... has it one (long) timing chain ... or TWO ... ??

I think it has one long one and from what i here about VF1000f they have a few cam chain tennsioner probs from time to time

it actually sounds like something is catching as it is going round

Take the bloody thing apart and have a look then. Turning it over when it sounds like that is only going to fuck it up.

V four
It has two chains and two tensioners, if my brain is working this evening it runs internal spring loaded tensioners
You can still buy the tensioner and assorted parts new from Europe.

I'd be ripping the valve covers off and checking for chain tightness, any bent looking valves etc etc
