Any use of the term 'cagers' on KB is because:

    (a) the poster just got here and has been reading too many idiotic American motorcycling forums; or

    (b) the poster is taking the piss.

Which of the above applies to this thread is left as an exercise for the reader.
I'm not as new as you think... First time I've ever mentioned it, but I've always thought:

'Cagers huh? I bet 90% of those that use the term frequently drive a car or are new to motorbikes, but pretend like they live the hardcore biker lifestyle.'

    Haha but yeah, fuck cagers!*

*I drive cars far more often than I ride bikes.

The rider has no skills. Hasn't done his time on a smaller bike.

Real good example of target fixation for newbies. Looking at the camera on the other side of the road and look where he finished up ... on the other side of the road.

    I got the impression that:

    1. The camera distracted him from the upcoming corner and caused him to forget the 'braking' part and overcook it,

    2. He started going round as best he could, probably would have made it OK without much more than brown trousers, but

    3. He saw the Corvette and fixated, boom.

If you look at how far away from the centerline the Corvette driver got before the bike hit him, I'd say if our fearless rider had just torn his eyes off the car and carried on around the corner, he would've been on the wrong side of the centerline for a wee bit, but nobody would've binned.

I think he browned his trousers and gave up the corner when his bike used up its 10cm of cornering clearance and grounded out. Then he proceeded to kamikaze the hell out of the corvette.

Funny series of pictures though. I still giggle looking through them.

It was a good thing that Corvette was there, otherwise he would have ridden off the side of the hill...

I certainly agree with 2 and 3. You can see him straighten off the big lean over the centre line and head towards the Corvette instead.

Target fixation is a powerful thing. I'm sure every farmer has a 'One trough in a five acre paddock and he drives into it' story.

Every time I ever played Soccer, I passed the ball very nicely to the opposition goalie.

Made target fixation very understandable, later on.
