It's not what you ride but how you ride it!!
.7 left , must see how large the tank is
i'm over buckets
Started the race with a full tank (12 litres), had to refuel at lap 190. Thirsty little two stroke!
I only had 12 litres with me. Cully warned me we wouldn't make it on 1 tank, so we borrowed some fuel just in case
To be honest when the bike coughed and spluttered I thought it was running out of fuel so went into the pits and refuelled, it only lasted another half dozen laps before giving up completely (was an electrical fault). There may still be a few litres in the tank, I'll have a look once I regain the use of my legs.
Must have it written down but 4.5 rings a bell back when the 50s were only grazing 12hp.
My road going RG used to develop this mystery fault going to work about every two weeks. On the way back up the long hills to Karori it would finally konk out. And I'd switch it onto reserve.
When I did the wgtn 2hr with the Good Lord he was fussing about when we would do the refuel. I told him with the std 250 tank on his bike we would never have to. First stop he wanted to fill it. I insisted he get out there and ride. 10 minutes later he's pushing.
I guess I just assumed that he'd fill the sodding tank. Rather than the 3l he must have put in there.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
We got through 7.4 liters.
Stock is best
