The bend is right at the start, it just makes it a bit hard to get head down as early as ya want. Not dangerous, just a bastard.

A little surprised no one cracked 300. http://www.cliffhanger.org.nz/sprint...2_results.html

I guess the S1000RR is the only genuine 300kph bike?

    With that much run-up, possibly.

    I assume it was 1/4 mile + 1/4 mile?

I don't know what the road is like, but my experience of doing uh... higher speeds (temporarily closed road of course) is that even little bumps give you a bit of and the bigger bumps are definitely

You can only accelerate when the wheel is on the ground too... again related to how smooth the road is.

It's surprising how much difference there is between, say a Buell XB12R and an XB12X. Same engine, but whereas the R hits the rev limiter fairly hard at 230, the X struggles to get there. On the R your arms are more or less relaxed, on the X the drag on a reasonable sized, more upright rider is huge, you're trying to do chin-ups on the handlebars.

Not too surprising... bikes have quite a low co-efficient... then you put the rider on...

Busa runs a 290kph speed limiter this year. not sure about previous years.
All jap manufactures have stuck to under 300 limiters for the euro market
zx14r 2012 needs a ecu re-flash to remove limiters as they arnt as easy as before due to the wheel sensors and traction control running the limiters now. New busa is the same and powercomander does not fix it.

Not sure about the older busas 2005-2010 but someone will know.

Yeah considering the number of times riders have cracked 300 in past years it does seem odd. The road surface was fine, no bumps. There was no head wind on Sunday. The run up for the flying is a fair few kms, so heaps of room.

Someone turned up in the afternoon on a black S1000RR but didn't enter. WHY NOT? That's like going to the pub for a glass of water.

Many who cracked the 300 before did so on modified bikes, especially gearing, which doesn't count in my books as a fair comparison between models. Throw a 50cc scooter out of a plane and it will break 200kph. Where as most of us yesterday were stock I'd say.

I take it you mean the S1000RR is the only genuine 300kph bike in stock form? Aren't the MV312 and Hayabusa and ZX14R supposedly capable of 300?
