Argh!! Don't think I can make it next Sunday. And I have to go against the big cc boys if I do get there.

East-West Rd is a fine spot for this peps if you are looking for a lot of fun. Well worth the effort and small cost. Get there early for the cooler air which seems to produce the best times.

How come it's gone back to the dodgy road with a bend in it?

Funny. It's not a race track though, it's just a closed road people are going for top speed.

But word is, that bend gets quite fuckin interesting at 300kph.

    I don't doubt it.

Which one, by the way? The one west of the bridge/dam or the one east?

Most corners that weren't corners but now are corners at 300kph get very interesting when doing 300kph

Better be fine because I've cancelled my other plans. If it's not fine I blame the organisers. That's their job to be blamed.

Although Dalefield Rd has a longer run up to the timing gear and it had a downhill starting ramp, it did have powepoles very close to the edge of the road side. Whereas E-W Rd has the poles on the other side of farmer browns fences. E-W is far safer for the spectators. Carterton drew bigger crowds but E-W Road will attract a better class of spectator. [pt]

The tricky bit was you found yourself having to change up to 2nd just as you reached the left hander bend while you were still struggling to get your feet up on to the pegs (from a drag start). Some of us blokes can't multi-task, or so women would have us believe.

It would be good if we could start 20 metres further back towards the dam. That way we can hit the bend in 2nd, not mid-change-up.

    Mark,

Last year in the twilight running we were starting on the western side of the dam, hope fully that will be the same this time.
