    New Welly Rider (Jacobite)

    Hi all

I've had my L plates for about 4 months now and am really loving riding. I'm a 23 (nearly 24) year old guy originally from Palmerston North who has been down in Welly about 5 years now. Currently riding a 1997 Yamaha DT230 Lanza but I'm looking at 2007 BMW 650GS this week so who knows (dam Trade Me and its temptations!) how long that will last.

Been along Red Rocks a few times (not all the way round) and really enjoyed going off road, just going a little bit further each time to get my confidence up and improve my riding.

I've taken a look at this place a few times and looking forward to getting amongst it.

Too late, you posted, you are amongst it. Welcome. I'm a road rider myself so not much help on that dirt stuff but there are plenty here that are, both dirt riders and helpful, just keep the filters handy.

    1) it's incurable. better get used to it. better either be single or find a wife similarly affected.

    2) good shit. that's what it's about.

    3) you're a mad bastard.... (or you didn't look hard enough)

Welcome mate. I'm new here myself... only just got my bike delivered on saturday so haven't made it to Red Rocks yet. The seller hadn't attached the new reg or WoF before it left him so I've ventured into the CBD today to get all that sorted. As you say, going a little further each time, great for the confidence.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a 650GS around Red Rocks

Cheers for the warnings guys. I will keep my eyes peeled.

In other news I now own a BMW F650GS. Opps temptation proved too much, pic it up this week sometime.
