Long awaited return to riding (Dusty Ninja)

Hi All, had been riding bikes from the age of 15 until the usual marriage, kids, etc meant no more time (or money) for riding. Last bike was a Yamaha XJ650. Kids have now grown up and left the nest.

I told my wife I wanted another bike about 6 years ago. She suggested a sports car would be enjoyable for us both. Bought an MG and did enjoy it for a while but the call of two wheels was too much. Got rid of the MG and bought a fully restored 1985 Kawasaki GPz600R. I prefer the older style bikes than the new plastic bikes (sorry, no offence intended). I have had it for two weeks now and I just love it.

I work and stay in Wellington during the week but live in Wanganui. Would love to hear from anyone that is intrested in the odd weekend ride around the Wanganui area... Too young for Ulysses, to clean for Wanganui MC and I don't own a Triumph.

    Cheers
    Drew

You sound a bit like the guys I ride with - we don't like anything with LCD Instrumentation!
I never met a Kwaka I didn't like either! I am settling for a bit of plastic now days, but like you I am not too keen on the changes I have seen since around 2000.
    Enjoy yourslef - stay safe!

Thanks Sootie, have been on a couple of organised rides now and am loving it. Mate I work with has an Yamaha R1 and having issues with his ECU. Had to laugh when I commented that I don't need a computer science degree to ride my bike
