Exactly! Are there anymore nutters, or are we just better at finding out about them? The media certainly delight in telling us all about it. The thing is, your kid has a very very low chance of being *insert heinous act here* by some sick pervert, or run over or whatever- we all know that.... but who wants to be the one who must live with the consequences if it happens to your kid?
My daughter telling me like it is:
"There is an old man in your face daddy!"

Nice work - When I was a kid! - I grew up, had a family and changed careers twice before computers were in the workplace - let alone homes.

Most common game for me as a kid was motorcycles. Had them since I was a toddler. Flat out on Minibikes or a push bike with cardpoard pegged in the spokes so it sounded like one.
Hours and hours and hours of backyard cricket. Some Basketball and Soccer goalie which I can still do OK today.

First computer game was Space Invaders - by the bucket of 20c loads.
The submarine one was next fave.

Mac cricket was my first on the 'puter and I still play it.
