KB Mucking in

With all this talk of builders

We have a senior KBer needs help ...yes he does. If I could get mucking in involved I would. Not sure they brave enough to hit West Auckland - BIG CLUE.

Said KBer has rendered his home for a First Aid course and a Mechanics evening. Any of you been to his house know that with a hammer we can work wonders. Chainsaw wouldnt go astray.

Hes helped heaps of you get into racing and with bike set ups. If I can steal his keys (then again house is left unlocked most of the time) maybe we can return the favour. And give his son somewhere nice to sleep!

A KB mucking in weekend it is then! WHAT DO YA RECKON! Motu and Wari - no excuses from you fellas.....

The date is the weekend of 3rd and 4th Sept

Need to know numbers as to how much we can do. There will be NO STRUCTURAL work just a spruce up. I will be there from 8am both Saturday and Sunday so if you can spare an hour or a day all will be appreciated.

Crashe has played super sleuth

and provided a comprehensive list of what is required. Thanks mate.

Some have offered to do specific jobs which is great. Anyone else got a specific skill then put your hand up...right Im off for a ride

yeah Ill be keen.
I aint no builder or anything but im a handi-man type of guy. just make sure theres lots of no #8 wire

but in seriosness, I can proberly help out, also me and mains electricity have an 'understanding'* if you need wiring done.

edit: If I forget to check this thread can someone throw me a PM when its organised. cheers

(*ps. im not a qualified electrician so no water heater installations :P)

what exactly needs doing?? I'm in for more of the "strip to a blank canvas" stuff.

Not a basher, but crowbars are probably the most effective for gentle destruction.

When we renovate a room, stripping is done in 2-3 hours, the reconstruction is done in months...

If painting and stopping need to be done, then we can't do this in one day...

I have been up and done a wee inspection on the outside of the house.

If the recipient of this venture, could txt me the time he gets home at night, then I can check out the inside, as to what needs doing.

The outside is all reasonable easy work....

The outside:
The back fence behind the garage needs replacing...
The timber for this is beside the driveway.

The guttering on the back of the garage needs to be rejoined up.
The guttering out the front needs replacing.
There is a long piece of guttering sitting in the front section ready to go up.

Pull the vine off the side of the garage.
Waterblast the outside of the garage.

Weedspray the whole section - on the boundry.

Waterblast or hose down the outside of the house.
Sand and repaint backdoor steps - frame only.
Repair the two steps up to the front desk.
Sand and repaint the frame to this deck.
Waterblast the front deck - very slippery.

Clean out the gutters on the house.

Refix the window to Baby bikies window.. one side is slightly hanging off the hinge.

Bricks on the side of the driveway, need to be moved and placed on the patch that is being used as extra parking. That at the moment is mud and slush. Some bricks are there already. The area would need to be dug out and bricks placed in a proper way.

On the side of the house is a hole that someone has hit at some stage. - needs to be repaired.

Clean up the area in front of where the van is parked.

Back DECK:
This needs a qualified builder to look at it.
There is not enough posts holding it up and its on a slight lean.
Plus some of the post look to short.

The deck is up high, so there should have been a permit for it.
We need someone qualified to look at it to determine if it can be repaired.

Paint required: white for the framework of both decks and sandpaper.
Waterblaster: for the garage, deck, house and driveway.
Fences: People who know how to do this.
Guttering: People who know how to do this.
Garage: Needs tiding up.
Weedspray: I can do this, just need a nice sunny day no wind.

All the trees around the front don't need trimming they are all ok.
There are a few rocks /boulders to the side of the driveway.
Out the front of the gate is a old furniture that needs to be taken away to the concourse.

I'm great at waterblastin stuff, paintin stuff, hammerin stuff, breakin stuff, gettin in the way, and general stuff.
Could you pick a sunny warm day for it, and have a barbie n beers goin too? that'd be fun.. then a paddling pool so we can chill between jobs, and have skimpy bikini girls handing out beers.. that'll make sure all the guys turn up and work hard..
