    Let's try again (Dragon)

So I haven't posted in ages (4years ish)

Last time I posted I was looking at buying a ninja 250 however due to changing jobs and license issues I never went ahead

Anyway ive been back in wellington since 09 and seeing as I have just gotten rid of my last car (minus the project car) I thought with the spare cash I have giving it another go and getting back into riding

Learner license and I haven't ridden since my BSH in 2008 I did however ride a 50cc scooter for a year in 06 (car license) and did a little bit of riding without a license oops but seeing as I have $0 fines and demerits which I haven't had in 4years I want to do everything properly this time

Looking at new gear as my old stuff I don't trust

Budget for gear is around the 2-2.5k mark and have already emailed the guys at wellington motorcycles I will pop in and see them around the end of the month (23rd) as I need to sort some things out first.

Had a quick look on TM and found the below

Anyone on here the seller? I don't want to spend huge amounts on a starter bike as I am considering popping over to oz for work at some stage next year and I don't want to have something hugely expensive sitting there for 6months or so, also means i'll have more cash to go towards something bigger later.

I prefer sports styling and I have had a sit on the fzr before so I know its an ok size for me (I am roughly 5'11-6' and 75kg)

    Thoughts comments?

    Thanks in advance

However knowing me something will happen to stop me but fingers crossed

I think you can do a bit better than that.

Hyosung are great started bikes. I know a few people who ride them and seem very happy.

Why confine yourself to a 250?
Check out the new LAMS bikes , plenty of great bikes available at that price range that are heaps better, up to 650cc.
As you will hear from others, a 10yr old 250 sports bike will probably have been thrashed, but there are some rally good 400's @500's out there just waiting for a learner to buy and enjoy.

What he said ^^^^ I envy the fact you can go straight to a bigger bike now.... mind you take on a rider training course if you do, well worth it so I have heard.

I did have a good look at the lams list however I am a little picky and want something pretty also I don't really want to spend more then 4k max on something I'll probably have for a year to a year and a half, so kind of limits me for the newer stuff as the 250 market still seems to be holding

An other reason im aiming for a 250 is due to the fact I want to stay out of trouble with mr plod and I know if I get something I can put a pillion on the back I will however I will have another look around at the bigger options

Plus I want something that I wont be tempted to push

I hate making decisions like this haha

And the possibility of being thrashed can happen with any bike but I agree with the fact most 250 sports bike will have been

Ummmm I don't like the hyos for various reasons so im sticking away from them at this stage
