Aye, the two models that least need moar power get the new mill.

    And I'm gutted there's no 1290 SMT.

Yet. Give 'em time man, it's only a little company.

And it could be argued that the 1190 Adventure T fills the gap left by the SM/T in the interim anyway.

Not very successfully though. At least not for me.

I must admit I haven't sampled an SMT in anger, I've had a go on two 990ADVs and a couple of Superdukes, though. I can't see a bigger ADV as anything other than a purely commercialy driven tap on the big advbike fettish market, and that doesn't make any sense to me either.

An 1190 SD makes sense, but they're a small bike, smaller than the Buell, and they don't fit me very well. So even if the new KTM mill is a match for the 1125 It'll be a starter for me only if they've scaled it up to full size.

That reminds me very much of a promo of a rally car driver in a subaru - same start, same approach to the promo. Excellent both times...

I'm sure you could move the pegs and fit higher bars and also KTM should have a hi seat option, all little things to get a bike to fit.
My fav was the super enduro those ADV just looked to big and heavy, and if they can get around Erzberg that's gotta be the clincher.

    KTM 1290 R concept

I find myself bored with a lot of the new release motorcycles. Not that I have the coin for a new ride I just squeeze the family wallet for bits and bobs to personalise the Hornet year after year ......

But - this concept bike is not far off a actual production version - add turn signals, plate etc and .....

I like. Darn shame the tyres would not end up like that in my hands but one can dream. I even like the wheel paint.

Now what would it look like in Black and silver ......
