    Cannot get power to headlight

    I have a 2006 WR250F .
I bought it with the headlight and indicators removed, the taillight is still on it and it works, and goes all the time the bike is running, as does the brake light when I apply the brakes.
There are no switches to switch it off.
I bought a new headlight but there is no power to the wiring looms that powered the old headlight etc.
I check the fuses under the seat, they seem all Ok.
I figure why doesnt the headlight go when the taillight is going?

I have only checked the loom plugs with my multimeter.

I have heard that the headlight on these models may be AC current.

    Can anybody help

Yeah on these bikes the lighting circuits are AC, they come straight from the alternator, before rectification.

Yellow wire from the alternator feeds the headlight circuit. It is joined to a blue wire for the tail light.

Put your meter on an ac range > 12 volts or use a test lamp. You should be able to trace the wire and find the problem. Or be lazy man and run a wire from the tail light to the headlight.
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.

    Have a look here ... a downloadable circuit diagram of a WR250F.
