    Its Official!

I dont really have the words to describe how i am feeling tonight.

You guys may have seen a St John ad on TV a few months ago regarding them needing caring callers? Well it touched a heart string for me.

My Mom passed away a couple of years ago, I miss her. Alot. I used to ring her every night at 5pm. It grew to be known as "Mom O'Clock" and I did not even need a clock to tell what time it was. All that stopped.

I got a phone call tonight, confirming I am now approved as a St John caring caller. My client is an elderly lady.

I had to rush the St John person off the phone so I could say hi to my special old lady.

How friggen cool is that! Making a lonely old ladys day, by picking up the phone and asking how she is. She is used to 2 calls a week.

    It will be my pleasure!

    Very cool my friend!

I'm a big believer in talking the talk, and walking the walk... Giving your time is often more precious and meaningful than money.

Well done, it's sad to see so many seniors living out their last years with no one after contributing so much to society.

Yes training. Done. Yes a half day out of my life Rules are simple and easy. The rest is about befriending an annonymous stranger, and taking the time to say hi a few times a week.

Yep! I for one dont really care what they may have done, it is simply taking the time to say hello. Provides a way though to ensure that all is well for them.

I am a happy camper tonight!

And there will be more seniors in the decades ahead...

We need to teach the next generations the value of the older generation and give time to them or we'll all end up the same and the only calls we'll get are from some Indian call centre!

Plenty of heavy breathing and gender specific scripts for being hot for your clients? Thought that's be natural for ya

My kids are responsible members of society. They have seen me do the church cleaning (though I dont attend, and I am not Christian) one has even cleaned on my behalf when I left her to it (she was 17, and still loves me).

I fostered for years. My babies have grown up with other kids in our home. They know lots of shit! They also appreciate how lucky they are.

I know that my example to my kids has helped make them the fantastic people they are

Take the time folks, it is worth it

At the risk of denigrating your good intention ... I know where there is a little old man that you could practice on, sigh!

Good on you and good luck with it, I don't think you are going to run out of work opportunities though!
