I'm moving to NZ for a year this December, and I want to buy a bike to tour the country and to use for everyday commutes while living in the city. I've had a few months experience riding my lil' Honda VT250F sportbike here in Canada.
Any suggestions?
- I'm open to different styles of bikes; just gotta be very comfortable for long distances as my back gets quite sore
- Needs to be reliable. Around 600cc would be ideal I think (250cc not big enough for longer trips - already tried that!)...I found a Honda Hornet I like the looks of but sadly it's 900cc which I think is far too much for me in terms of weight & experience
- Weight is a factor (can't be too big for me to handle as I'm a small lass)
- Ideally around $2,000 but will go up to $3,000 if it's an impressive deal
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks

It's possible to find a well maintained well loved old bike for that sort of cash, but Iunno. If it was me, I wouldn't do it. Reckon it depends on how mechanically confident you feel in checkin things over and how lucky you feel
