I sure hate people that use their front low lights when their isn't fog in sight. They are low and point pretty well straight into your eyes as you are facing them. They do not light up the road very well except for straight in front of the vehicle so it does piss me off that those using them seem to have no idea when to use them.

In our generally clear skies and not the mists of Europe the bloody things should be banned, likewise the rear ones that make it look like the brake lights are stuck on.

On a clear night on the Wellington motorway they are just a pain in the arse to see ahead as you keep thinking the line is slowing down under brakes.
    Cheers

Kinda embarrassing I admit, but it was dark....and I gotta live up to the Pajero name y'know. It's not often a situation like this lands in my lap and I thought I'd see if the sublte hint of flashing lights would work if following a car - it appears not,but of course I knew that before I even tried eh?

How about the idiots driving around with NO lights on! There are more and more of these nimrods out there. They are so involved in their driving, they fail to even look at their instruments, to, at the very least ascertain what speed they are doing - unless all dash lights are on without other lights, these days!

FYI: To my understanding; in later model Jap cars (like last 15 years or so!) if you have no dash lights then there is a good possibility you have no tail-lights because (a) you haven't turned your lights on or (b) the fuse for your tail-lights has blown - see the cunning buggers have rigged dash and tail-lights on the one fuse for that very reason - only the average Kiwi is to duh! or too lazy to fix his dash lights. (probably explains a few of the speeding tickets they get).

"Hyuk, well duh, I couldn't see what speed I was doing 'cos my speedo light is out hyuk hyuk"

"How long has it been out?"

    "Aw, about 2-3 months"

    "Why haven't you fixed it?"

    "Duh, aw, I dunno, hyuk"

"Did you know your tail-lights are also out?"

"Issat royt? I'll gettem fixed assoonass eh, probly th' fuse, it goes now and then"

    Argh!!!

rear fog lights wind me up something chronic.. and flashing etc gets you no where, cos the only fukin fog around is in between their ears!!!! I think what it is, most of those drivers see 'ooo, foglights..' and possibly think it's the front ones. Then the back flick on, and they don't know about it. And then when you pull along side on the bike, they get all fukin offended!!! wtf?

Yep bugjuice, I have often imagined that's the reason for the lights been on.

Too many features in a modern car for the average bozo to figure out their proper use.

Luckily for most the steering wheel ain't too complicated eh?

I know a few european flavours of cage have 2-stage fog buttons. The first click for the front, second for front and rear. They probably will never know this. So they'll drive oblivious that and not accept any different.

Personally, I think a lot freak out when they see a windshield in front of them.. let alone a steering wheel and switches..

It might not be complicated, but the tossers still can't use it.
