    KTM Duke 390

Has anyone asked KTM or any dealers anything on the Duke 390, and if it is coming to NZ, and when etc?

MotorcycleTrader has a small article that says "early next year", but not sure how accurate this might be ...

Yes it's coming. It's going to be roughly $10k and they're aiming for April.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and it's a 390cc single thrown into the 200 chassis.

Didn't you go to a KTM dealer and ask yesterday? lol.

Yup. April/May production is the schedule.

It looks like an absolute giggle of a wee beastie. Perfect for my better half to learn on. Course, I wouldn't ride it

No, wasn't me. Maybe others have been asking at dealers ... I think it will be a popular bike ... there'll probably be a six month wait to actually get one from when they 'arrive' in April/May.

I see that TSS Red Baron in Wellington was advertising the 390's as 'coming soon' in the newspaper this weekend.

I am trying to decide between a 390 and the new Honda CB500F - which do you folk think would be the best bike?

Well it all depends what you want to do with it. If I had the cash for a dedicated communter to replace the SJ50, that 390 would tick a lot of boxes.

I would put my money on the 390. I have a feeling the CB500 will feel cheap and nasty. Time will tell!

The 690's absolutely retarded. You can fully misbehave in any situation. Rock solid stability, pretty good comfort, excellent fuel economy, light tyre wear and fast enough for most situations.

For some reason a few of our customers are comparing it to a Street III but for me it's a far different bike as it's soooo much lighter and more hooligany than the Triumph.

The 390 will be spectacular also and at $4K less expensive and probably LAMs approved, it'll be a big hit.

Well I currently have three bikes on my short list and the top two are the KTM and the St3, and I would be happy with either. While it is true that they are quite different to each other, with BlueWing not importing the Hornet, (or anything else much?) the middleweight cupboard is pretty much bare.

For some reason nobody will let me ride on of them but they look like a perfect bike for a muppet like me
When the 390 comes out here I'll try get a test ride, if it's LAMS legal it'll be a seriously cool bit of kit

However... a 525 is LAMS legal and they're bloody silly
