Yep, it runs from just above the front axle, back to the chassis parallel to the front arm, shortening it increases castor/ trail.
It spent a week at my place recently & I was also familiar with spongebobs virtually identical set up.

It was a productive day yesterday. Along with some other bits and pieces, we made up a baffle plate for the sump.
Also, an exhaust valve that came out of the blown motor.
While you sit there liking things just cos' everyone else does, I'll be standing up here keeping it real.
