Finally got the old girl running properly, thank God. Turns out it was the fuel pump. We had tested it early in the piece, and discounted it because it primed more than the minimum and ran at spot on the proper pressures. Turns out though, that whoever mounted it hadn't used petrol friendly rubber as a gasket. So it had gone brittle and fallen apart, leaving a black sand like substance in the tank, internal filter, and pump.

It has never gone as well as it does now, and I used to think it was fast considering it's pedigree. It's a bloody rocket ship now.

Huge thanks to everyone who has helped and offered advice. We were getting less and less enthusiastic every time we took out of the truck, with the season we'd had.

Now you found some one to fix it for ya, guess you will be looking for some one to teach you how to guide it now

Why? $6,500 gets you a proper race ready, slightly outdated chair. All the moving parts have just been serviced or replaced on it. It's a bit on the porky side, but there is weight to shed easily for someone with a half decent workshop.

Some people seem to think the Agip bike should be left as Mo built it. I reckon that makes it worthless. It can be competitive again.

Chuck an 04 R1 up it, and shed 40-50 kilos and it'd be as good or better than ours. Sounds like a lot of weight to drop, but if you see how it's built you would understand.

Dunno if it's worth $6,500, but you could easily shed 30-40 kgs with some new tubes (instead of the fukn steam pipe it has....), and yes, it would be in the hunt again....
Dunno if it could beat Drew though......

Worth more than a one that's been folded in half by a shipping container?
