Some good advice from the NZ Herald

Hmmm....cant be good for the rubber can it

"The parking wardens won't like this but, in the Spirit of Christmas, I suggest getting a can of WD 40 oil and water-displacing spray. Simply spray your tyres, the evil wardens' chalk won't stick and it's not harmful to tyres or the environment."

Pfft! They chalk the tread, not the sidewall...you gonna carry a can of WD40 and apply to all tyres every time you park up?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Yes I think everyone knows that which is why I thought it a strange recommendation. They are essentially telling you to coat your tyres with the stuff.
And I can just imagine what some of our less intelligent citizens would do with that advice....."aint got any wd40 but its sort of like oil, right, ive got some oil..."

There will be someone who smears way too much WD40 over their tyres, and does things to his or her handling.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

    I can save some money then ... I don't need WD-40 ... because we don't have parking wardens ...

In the spirit of christmas I though christmas was about generosity rather than selfishness? pay for your parking time then fuck off so somebody else can do their christmas shopping.

I can feel the spirit! After following a Mavis for a few k's on a twistie gravel road today at an average of 7kmh, totally ignored or invisible, I would love to see some good will, consideration & generous human spirit this festive season. Fingers crossed.
