Stoked for Elias to be so strong at his first round. The final turn shinanigans from him and Guiliano, and Haslam and Fabritzio was awesome.

Sykes better get himself sorted again soon, because no one seems to have told Laverty that the championship was out of his reach.

Hell yeah. Guess he's finally admitting defeat when it comes to the MotoGP Bridgestones and Moto2 Dunlops. Pirelli's seem to suit him down to the ground, as does the Aprillia.

the last 5 laps of WSS was epic - I'm usually gunning for Lowes to win but it was mint for Sofuoglu to win at home - nice comments afterwards he made about Lowes afterwards too

Agree! I'm a fan of Lowes, but that race couldn't have been scripted better.

And Sofuoğlu went up in my estimation with his after race comments.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

Race 1 was entertaining, notwithstanding the interuptions. I didn't realise that they were racing on the Saturday, thankyou Series Link.

Thats what happened to my mate... He came inside and seen the little red record light going and wondered what it was recording... BOOM SBK, he wasn't too impressed that it wasn't advertised in the papers and such

Exactly the same happened to me, was well worth watching though, super impressed at Laverty getting passed Melandri through the corkscrew! Apparently is the press conference he said "I've seen Rossi and Marquez do it so thought I would give it a go...." or words to that affect

    European Junior Cup

Lewis starting from P4, Raymond starting from P3, Anne starting from P33!!!!!!

Jake needs to: finish the race anywhere in the points but near Raymond and in front of, or next to Anne and he will be EJC champ 2013 (except if it is Anne P1 and Lewis P2, that would suck).

    GO JAKE!!!

Well done Q for Sam, fingers crossed for a great result.

Ah, damn and blast, I thought Magny-Cours was the last round!!! Bugger.

So, just for the mental exercise (but owing to the closeness of the competition, unlikely), if Jake scores 21 more points than Anne, 8 more points than Raymond, 5 more than Flitcroft and 4 more than Canducci he will win it here.

Unlikely, but Anne is starting off the back, so it could be possible.

    In any case, FULL NOISE!!!!

Fernandez Wins PATA European Junior Cup In France

The penultimate round of the PATA European Junior Cup lived up to its reputation after a titanic battle which raged until the final lap saw Augusto Fernandez, Peter Sebestyen and Javier Orellana finish on the podium at the end of a shortened 5 lap race.

The race, which initially started after the World Supersport race was stopped on safety grounds following an incident involving Guillaume Raymond (France), Kevin Manfredi (Italy) and the unfortunate Jake Lewis who was collected in the crash.

At the restart championship leader Lewis and his two closest rivals Robin Anne and Guillaume Raymond (both from France) were unable to take part meaning a tense time for the Kiwi who was watching from the pit lane.

Sebestyen (Hungary) looked like he was going to win by a margin but as is usual with the EJC, the swarming pack of CBR500cc Honda machines soon closed ranks, ensuring the enthusiastic fans were treated to a thrilling final 2 laps.

James Flitcroft (Great Britain) and Hannes Soomer (Estonia) crashed on the final chicane leaving Valter Patronen (Finland) who was wildcarding this weekend to finish 4th ahead of Swede Jesper Hubner and female competitor Sabrina Paiuta from Brazil who claimed a superb 6th.

Paiuta managed to defend several attacks on the final lap leaving Miguel Aranda (Spain), Ricardo Filippini (Italy), Kevin Manfredi (Italy) and Marcel Schultheiss (Germany) to complete the top ten.

Stefan Hill (Great Britain) was 12th claiming his first points of the year, while local wildcard rider Renald Castillon took a credible 13th.

Connor London (New Zealand) and the second female competitor Amelie Demoulin from France also claimed their first points of the season in 14th and 15th positions respectively.

Today’s result leaves the top two positions overall unchanged with Lewis still holding the advantage with 76 points, four ahead of Robin Anne. Fernandez’s victory moves him to 3rd only 5 points behind the leader as the championship moves to the season finale in Jerez, Spain in a fortnight.

Augusto Fernandez: – “I am very happy for the result. It’s my first victory and was a great fight. The next race in Jerez and I will do my best to win again in front of the local fans.”
