    Another TradeMe clone

    www.bananas4free.co.nz

    wheedle was a wimp out.

But there seems to be a lot of people trying to start something. And I must say, that my TradeMe fees are just mad, so I will certainly try the new site in parallel with TradeMe.

Competition drives down prices and fees. But will they last? Wheedle must have been the fastest crash and burn since the Hindenberg!

What do we know about this new one? Who owns/runs it?

I hope it survives. I've just listed my inflatable boat on Sella because of the fees Tme wanted to charge. Wont get half the views, but any opposition needs to be supported if it is to succeed.

I would have thought a name like "Trade4free" would be more appropriate and competitive [or has Trade Me bought up that name to block competition?].

Bananas4free? Sure, it's attention-grabbing, but doesn't say much to me except "Huh?" or "Free bananas?" Or even a name like Wheedle...

Mind you, I'll still be happily supporting them, of course, since TM is slowly choking sellers with their fees.

    re trade4free

I realise that this is an old thread but that site is owned by a guy called thedefpom who supports the scam site scambusters who go out of their way to put people down.scambuster (aka scumbusters) were in the herald about their antics.I have gone out of my way to make up a site using the same name (trade4free that is).Thedefpom lives in the hauraki plains area.
An example of their arrogant bullying Nigel Stanford sent an email to owner of site tardme.co.nz.The site is still up.
    Dear Jeremy,
We'd appreciate you shutting down tardme.co.nz at your earliest
convenience. This will help us to aviod us taking any legal action against
    you.
    Regards,
