    Wets on FXR rims?

Who is using wets on FXR rims? Do they work OK? I have pinched slicks and they're awesome but not sure what wets would be like, or should I be looking for new rims?

Probably means GP125 slicks fitted on rims that are to narrow

nowhere near as good as proper wets, I'd be using front wets at both ends

Have run wets on standard rims before now, pinched wets work as well as pinched slicks, only point I'd make would be to ditch the tubes and that they will probably still be a bastard to bead up.

Cheers for that, already ditched the tube and the slicks def were a bastard to bead up! I have a spare set of rims and would like to be able to swap easily as the sunny race days seem to be getting more and more elusive!

As Henk says, it works. That's what I use (though I haven't raced for 18 months). Just need to convert rims to tubeless with new valves - needs some machining.

There are bolt up tubeless valve stems that go through the standard sized holes. Not sure where to get them though.

Most tyres shops will have them, maybe Repco and Supercheap

Oh I see. I used to call that 'using the incorrect tire for the rim'.

Haha, yeah, I've already reamed out the hole with a battery drill to take a tubeless valve.

Good on you. A machine shop in Auckland charged me $75! That was when I went tubeless for my slicks. I did my wet wheels myself on a drill press - worked perfectly.

As Kick & Henk said. Patch (which is a stone throw away from Kobas house) sell these for about $6. And as many wheel weights & whatnot as you can eat.
Don't you look at my accountant.
