Stopped two "speeders" this week

Haven't issued a speeding ticket for ages (last one was a truck at well over 100kph) but have been looking hard at ones who are holding "legal" traffic up.

Well get off your arse then, there are plenty of them out there... 'signs', say, "slow down 100kph is not a target" that means you do not have to do 100kph to be "LEGAL". Plenty of dumb arse cops out there 'holding up' traffic flow doodling along at 80kph in 100kph and dareing "Legal traffic" to pass.Then quite the reverse speeding off into the distance through 50kph areas . Yep the good ole 'do as I say not as I do comes to the fore.

All cops come across with the 'Hollier than thou" attitude, then they watch the sheep bow down to them. This thread shall be no exception.

He comes screaming up behind, tailgates, backs off so you can't see him then does it again.
I have heard of him doing it to numerous groups of bikes.

Or see if you can lead him off road somewhere around glorit, and stop and say hello.

Well, not really.
What I really stopped was one fella doing 35-40kph in a 50 single lane area who then sped up to 100kph once hitting the two lane piece of road thus stopping the hoards of vehicles now backed up behind him from passing (plesant fella who just needed reminding about driver attention and courtesy) and.................. a feisty old biddy doing 40kph in a 80kph area who (a) called me "sonny" and (b) said she will drive at a speed where she feels safe and anybody behind her is just impatient. She got some "paperwork" for certain things and I will be talking with her family about maybe suggesting she gives up driving
So, there ya go. We do look at the slow ones holding up traffic

Please Berg stay away from the Pukerua Bay to Paekakariki foreshore when I find no traffic on that piece of ex 100k now 80 limited road. Nice flowing corners now with safety barriers to prevent head ons.

Finally getting to the good twisties only to be held up by a slow driver, unable/don't want to pullover and once they reach town they fly through at 60-70kmph

Another classic is when they actually speed up when you get to a passing lane, like they actually don't want you to pass, little do they realise they have no chance muahahaha

When I was I was in NZ , April, hired a house in diamond harbour and a car , if we didn't take the ferry with its random payments ,,,we took the car . sorry but that was me , the 50 k tourist ... Spent most of the time pulling over to let the locals past ,,,, yes you CAN do 100 km/h but why would you the place is so nice ....I could spend all day driving round there

Lived in DH for 11 years - 6 of those rode to town weekdays. After the first year we NEVER went on the road weekends unless it was an emergency. Simply too bloody dangerous with rubberneckers looking over the edge rather than at the road.

Basically I got tired of picking up damaged riders and reporting car accidents.....

Given all the attention the Akaroa ride gets I'm really surprised we never saw any popo prescence around the harbour.

Nah, posters on KB reckon cops only target speeders and NEVER do anything like this - or maybe there IS revenue to be made from slow drivers too??

Cheese-graters actually. But one of those NZTA lies, we will lower the speed limit until we improve the safety of the road and then when the work has finished, the limit stays low even though the road is a beautiful ride at 100k. Instead now people doze off and but now hit a WRB instead of an on coming 18 wheeler but still result in the closure of SH1.
