    Stopped two "speeders" this week

    Well, not really.
What I really stopped was one fella doing 35-40kph in a 50 single lane area who then sped up to 100kph once hitting the two lane piece of road thus stopping the hoards of vehicles now backed up behind him from passing (plesant fella who just needed reminding about driver attention and courtesy) and.................. a feisty old biddy doing 40kph in a 80kph area who (a) called me "sonny" and (b) said she will drive at a speed where she feels safe and anybody behind her is just impatient. She got some "paperwork" for certain things and I will be talking with her family about maybe suggesting she gives up driving
So, there ya go. We do look at the slow ones holding up traffic
If you are what you eat, then I'm fast, cheap and easy
I have a gas axe and a welder! What do you mean "it won't fit"?

Can you please come up and give the local coppers some encouragement to do the same along Hilltop? An 80km/h stretch where most cruise along at 65km/h and once reaching the 50km/h section carry on at 65km/h...

I call those "one speed wonders". Haven't issued a speeding ticket for ages (last one was a truck at well over 100kph) but have been looking hard at ones who are holding "legal" traffic up.

We have a stretch along the Kapiti coast where a sunny sunday means the 80 km/h limit is hardly ever reached...

Justice would have the cop at the 50km/h end and give them a ticket for 15km/h over the limit. Love to hear their protests then!

    Good on ya Berg.

It's not easy to enforce the slow drivers. Worth doing though. Stops some of the hi risk overtaking in bad places.

We have the same up here. SH16 full of horse floats and Sunday drivers. 100km zone, lucky if you do 80.

Nah, posters on KB reckon cops only target speeders and NEVER do anything like this - or maybe there IS revenue to be made from slow drivers too??

That's nice to see in writing. Often it seems the "high risk overtaking" is seen as the sole cause of the trouble *, when the reality is that drivers (and riders) are just monkeys in clothes, and looking at why they do dumb shit has got to help.

    * count the "the faster you go the bigger the mess" adverts on T.V. versus the "get out of the fucking way" ads.

    (
My folks once got stopped, doing 50 k in a short area of 70 k zone behind Porirua (the road past the dump and hospital). No ticket, but a "telling off" (and directions to Bunnings).

They got the impression the officer was just checking if they were "tipsy" old folk carefully heading home from an RSA or bowling club or something.
    )
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
