I was kinda expecting there to be a problem with it, just from an engineering view point it would have been less work.

Well, its working! So thats a good sign. Midrange sounds better then it ever has. Roughin out the idle though, trying to find that sweet spot it likes.

Some updates pics. After idles right, I'll smooth it out some more and powder coat em.

Before i sealed the end caps and smoothed out the welds.

You can ignore the last one. Re did the manifold a bit, got a new Solex VW carb to run it now instead. Got it all working. Ordered new jets and waiting on them to arrive to fine tune it now.

Been a while since i posted. Thought id update this. I've been too busy actually riding the damn thing. I've put close to 30,000 km on it this year. Just got back from another long weekend road trip.

Few things; finally managed to make a dash for the tank. for now just has a temp gauge (from 78 wing, they had separate gauges for fuel, temp, amp). Will move start button, kill switch, high/low beam to dash and off of handle bars.

Got a hold of an antique tractor seat. Chopped and reshaped it to fit better.

    New bars

Got rid of gauge clusters. Just use iphone app for speedo. looks really good too.

    Heres some pics:

haha, before the tractor seat i used the pan seat i made, for the entire trip up to through canada. There were a few days where it got pretty tough. But this tractor seat is actually way comfortable. Last road trip i did on it didn't give me any problems at all.

That kinda sorta makes sense: given that people sat on them all day ploughing when they were mounted on tractors.....
