Something like that bike should draw peoples attention by the way it looks and sounds, not be part of the crowd of anonymous black bikes.

White front/rear gaurds with a white tank, black out everything you can except the carbs, intake manifold, valve covers and exhaust.

If I had it my way I'd just do bare metal or chrome. But the tank is so badly damaged underneath that it wouldn't work, with all the body work done.

My first try I'll go for is black fender and white tank. But I'll be doin some experimenting with different finishes. And whether or not there will be any artwork is yet to be foreseen.

spot on really. But the fender will remain black. And theres a method to my madness on this one... when it comes to the overall shape of the bike, the rear end is essential. It needs to have as minimal of a layout as possible; your eyes should focus on the acute angle of the suspension and swingarm/drive end, with the single round shape of the wheel. With the fender being black, it helps blend it together instead of distracting from the shape.

To me, the fender only needs to suit a purpose, not draw the attention. At least with this bike anyways.

black is the new white... just black out everything.. (although, I will admit to chrome trim on the faux cooling fins on the 'rex, and chrome skull valve caps..)

I have considered it. But i dunno, just wouldn't seem right. It would seem write if it were fake chrome.

In other news, I've just submitted my expression of interest for New Zealand residence yesterday. I'll be up for selection next wednesday. So I'm seriously hoping to get approved and get my arse back to NZ as soon as possible.

Starting on the single carb conversion, laying out the tubing for the manifold now.

Progress on the manifold. Got all the ports milled and matched. Tomorrow I'll finish up with cutting down the lengths on all 4 intake tubes and the center. Still have to mill the port for the carb output yet. But on the list for next time as well.

Reckon the intake will be all balanced enough with a log manifold like that?

Will the center provide enough flow to feed the 4 carbs? If the volume of the feed off the carb is the same as each cylinder requires then each cylinder is only going to get 1/4 of what it needs?

Keh?

They don't all suck at once. On a low revving motor like the GL, one carb is plenty provided it has a good enough fuel supply to the bowl.
