    Offshore purchase?

There's a dealer in Nelson that seems to specialise is these: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=518463154

Trouble is, of course that I'm in Wellighton. Does anyone know this lot? Does anyone have any novel ideas about how the procurement stage might be successfully carried out other than the usual fly/drive/look/buy/drive/float method?

Guess I could buy one sight unseen and require it dispatched to Welly on board unattended...

They're asking at least 3 times as much as what the vehicle is worth. For the same price you can buy a reasonably nice modern vehicle, rather than something 5 years overdue to be scrapped.

If they made them new I'd have bought one by now, anything later is common rail, excellent economy, but trouble.
As for scrapping them? It's a Toyota Hiace, it starts out with a 200,000km head start on anything even vaguely comparable, it's barely run in.

How long before the head cracks???
My mate is a mechanic and bought one of them, only because he had done the head on it for one of his customers....
That aside they go bloody well for what they are, actually nice to drive for a van...

If you really have to get a FOB wagon, get one of these http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-504629828.htm

    Highway star model for preference.

    Aye, worth an ask perhaps.

I've had a few over the years, not trouble free but nearlys so and better than anything else I've had.

Don't know much about them mate. Bit thirsty is all I've heard, but most of the petrol vans are.

Not sure what you're after, but the family has had 4 of the Toyota Estima/Previa models (not the new shape Previa) which have proven themselves nice and reliable...
