I guess this means no more nooky in front of the TV.

If the new TVs are that capable, then surely we can install an adblock extension?

Wait, people still watch actual broadcast television? Your TV isn't just a way to deliver video content? Really?

Microsoft's already started down this path, altho limited to Kinect at this stage (& you thought it was just an overpriced glorified microphone, turns out it can spy on you for MS profit too)

The Kinect is a surprisingly good device, especially for the money. Very easy to code for; skeletal tracking is basically native to it. I was surprised as I indeed assumed it was a glorified web cam.

Time to get into TV advertising... I mean for fooksake, if you're gonna get it on and aren't using a condom, a TV Ad telling you that you should be wearing one will be just a click away. Idiots should at least throw on some porn and a suitable sound track to enhance the mood. Perhaps it will sense that I have had my tubes tied and do that very thing. I do hope the kids don't get woken by the telly.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

Why pay for stuff (ala Sky). Throw up videos from the HTPC now and then, but for the most part, watch normal broadcast. Freeview has enough, I don't need any motivation to be watching more...

yea but I'm sure you're talking PC where it has some uses (for people that like to tinker). On it's main platform it is little more than an overpriced glorified microphone (that potentially spies on you)

Yup, it's getting ridiculously easy now isn't it! My laptop will talk directly to my TV, AVR and PS3 now... couldn't be easier!

Wait till you're watching media on your phone and wonder what the "change player" button does. Then your TV goes dark and the media comes up on it while everyone is wondering what's going on...

Don't even have the new gen of smart TVs, just the one before...
