Planning to start 9-10ish from Palmy.

Learners completely welcomed to come. I've only just got my learners in November so I'm still shiny new .

Not sure how long it will take. Winging it effectively

    Any takers?
depends on which gentle annie you're talking about, one's still got 20 odd kays of gravel and suffers from the locals driving like they own the road but is still a great ride the other is a logging road so plenty wide main thing to watch out for is the gravel flicked into the corners by vechiles cutting the corner and don't try to be a hero as it's a road that is carved out of whats there as opposed to one that's engineered with cambers and shit.
and stop plenty on both GA's and take piccies too

I'm quite confused now. Most of the people I've asked all seem to refer to the one and only gentle annie. There's more?

Just be wary on the middle section that used to be gravel. Although its tarsealed now there's still some nasty steps and slumping in places. Found the tar bleed quite bad at taihape end last year. Great ride for sure.

I guess if I ever reach your level of awesomeness there will be no such thing as a challenging road.
if you ever reach my level of awesomeness you wont be able to handle the abundance of naked woman throwing themselves at you. Dont lose sleep over it. not everyone can be this special.

As for 'challenging' roads. I dont class the gentle annie as one. Its not a really hard ride. Route 52, parts of forgotten highway, east cape... they would be much higher on my list of 'challenging' roads and I still wouldnt advise a learner not to ride them

'Challenging roads', '(Hitcher) "technical" roads', whatever next. Others you mention are like all others 'just roads ' !

What is the challenge ? To get off ones arse to go and do it maybe. What is the technical part?. Come to a tight corner, stop bike, get off and walk corner, back to bike and proceed.
