I just cannot imagine how those guys can ride at those speeds on those roads. It takes a very special sort of person to be a good road racer I think!

One without a brain me thinks... that clip early on of the cbr? sliding around left and right in the wet... yeah, ok

One can hope their roads are better than ours, but they didn't really look like it later in the vid. Amazing to watch tho!

The roads arent any better than your average NZ secondary road. However there are some BIG differences to NZ roads.
Irish roads are VERY narrow... no U turns over there,
No luxury of a nice clean edge to the verge and a bit of grass run off...NO a horrible feathered edge where soil and tarmac sort of meet (a bit like a cattle crossing)
And in most cases NO grass verge... the hedgerow/vegetation grows over the road and trees arnt planted nicely a few metres to the side.. they are on the roadside.
The one thing that really strikes you is the CLOSE proximity of everything to you..even in a vehicle.
I went back to the UK (which is the same) last year after 10 years of wide Aussie/NZ roads and was startled by how narrow the roads appeared even to me.

    These guys are VERY SPECIAL.

Some people are clearly born without either an imagination or a sense of self preservation. Fuck me is that some scary watching.

Epic stuff, however. Balls of steel.
