Need a new rear. Is it my riding style?

Please view my pics and see what has happened to my rear tyre!
Am I giving it too much coming out of the corner?
As you will see the front is mint!

It is going to have to be replaced as it is getting down through the centre and there is a couple of cuts and an old repair.
Shall I match up a rear with the front? Perhaps with Conti road attack 2.

The issue is your location .... find somewhere with corners ...

Looks like normal centre wear coupled with a majority of turning right - been on a track day? Also, the right side of centre will wear more due to the camber of the road. How many km?

how old is your tyre, and are you running it at the correct pressures?
with strips that wide, I doubt youre going 'too hard' out of corners.

I have only had the bike for 5000km Just wasnt too sure if the tread should come off in small chunks like that?

BattleAxe are not the ideal tyres for a Blackbird. In fact I don't know of any Bridgestone tyre suitable for your bike. I'd say 5000 km would about right for replacement for that tyre on a bike of that weight and performance..

Try Pilot Road 2 CTs or Road Attack 2 GTs

I guess it depends on the road surface but yeah, tyres get a hard life and can look pretty cut up and ragged by the end of their useful life. I would expect a bit more than 5000km from a sport touring tyre but imagine the tyre had a few km on it when you bought the bike. As noted, the tread off centre is still fairly deep so I guess there's a lot of commuting on long straight roads so all the wear is in the centre. Maybe go talk to the guys at Cycletreads about what replacement tyre suits your needs best. I think they're having a sale

Blackbirds were NOT built for economy ... tyres are an expected expense. The trade-off on tyres are grip and longevity ... should you take that route. The trust you have in your tyres in ALL conditions ... regardless of the mission you are on ... is paramount.

YOU decide what is best for you.

If you can't .. take the bus.

Is that the Hire Bus? They eat tyres pretty rapidly too.

Seems like pretty good advice from where I'm sitting. You put tyres on a bike to make sure it stays upright, when they let go the first time you start thinking about putting new ones on, if! they let go again you ride directly to the tyre shop and you put new ones on.
Otherwise you are going to your own funeral.
I'd say with an attitude such as yours you are going to become one of Kb's not so well received types, not to mention having no respect for time in or bikes ridden by other posters.
Can't take a hint? or the heat! get out of the kitchen bitch!
Every day above ground is a good day!:
