Seeing as we are all posting old cars now....

This is the old mans ute, imported from the states about 6 years ago, had been stipped back and all rust taken out, repainted and the vynl roof taken off and painted over, the ding you see is from the old lady but have new skins coming to be welded into place. 1969 Chev El camino its running a 454 big block .

Thanks for that Ed - man, it must have cost him a squillion $$$ to buy it! It's a beauty - will it be at this years Beach Hop?

Anyway, maybe if I won Lotto, until then I can only dream - and drive my hard-top edition!

Nope. Galactic North is the other way up. We're the right way up and Antarctica should be regarded as the home of the North Pole.

I knew you'd appreciate it! He won't say how much it cost, of course but he uses Jay Leno's guy to check vehicles out for him. He got five checked before the guy recommended this one.

I have two vids of it including putting the top up and down but can't upload them to KB.

He's got a book which catalogues everything you can still buy for them which is almost literally everything including nuts and bolts and grommets! Incredibly cheap!

PS. He's not the type of guy who goes to Beach Hops but would welcome you to come and see it if you're ever up this way. He likes showing it to those who like classics and would take you for a ride anytime.

I've several such books - and my credit-card it hurting because of them!

If I'm up your way I'll let you know and maybe I'll be able to have a look at his '66?

Just took us for a cruise in it. You don't drive one of these around town if you are a shrinking violet, that's for sure! Stopped at a harbour side cafe and there was a constant stream of admirers looking at it and taking pics.

I can vouch that 350hp is still plenty enough to get the old girl going and cause some stress to the rear tyres...

    Mine's only a 390, only 335hp

And I'm too worried about nurking the old Cruise-o-matic to see how much stress the rear tyres can hsndle...
