Trike guards?

I'm in need of some trike/trailer gaurds. The main thing is they need to be round, not square. To fit over a 650mm diameter tyre (285 wide, but I can widen a steel gaurd). Where the %@&* do I find such a thing? Or will I have to make it/get it made? Nothing on tard-me. Truck one's are too big. 44 gal drum too small.
Any ideas???

Do they have to be steel? Auckland Drum Company have a range of recycled plastic drums which have large diameter mid sections. I've heard of them being used for guards.

I would have thought someone like TWL would be a good place to start there's a few trailers/b Trains that run low profile 17.5 inch wheels which might be getting close

Do a search for Briford Trailers in Christchurch. he has a range of guards , and can manufacture to your specs, albeit at a price.
Briford Trailers also have the Boss Hoss NZ franchise IIRC.

Edit: looks like they're to suit 560 dia, but I've tweaked them to suit my trailer tyres... which are 680 dia.

TWL, or similar should have smaller sizes. Or you could try a tractor dealer, maybe a couple of fenders from a smaller tractor.

Not sure what would fit though, maybe there is something off something like a mini kubota, maybe lawnmowers or? When I remember I'll ask my dad, I'm coming up a bit blank.

You'll find most are either stubby or square or some kinda weird shape though.

Nice work. Pleased to see you using the remote steering with the double triple trees, I have ridden trikes with this , far better than the 'long" bar types. The rear and also is very neat and tidy. Its obvious you have done a heap more research than the average "weld it where it fits" trike builder. Have you ever read the blog "J P TRIKES". An english guy who has build many, worth the read.

Thanks for the comments. For the record it's based on a Honda ST1100, with Subaru Imprezza diff, axles and hubs.
It's for the missus. After her crash she really can't do bikes anymore. It's part of the reason for the double top clamp thing (she's small) but I didn't like how far sideways you have to push the long bars anyway.
I haven't read any stuff on this, just relying on My engineering background, and suspension knowledge. May look into it. (J P Trikes)
