More likely that this went out for community consultation and a compromise was reached. There were probably really good ideas at each end of the spectrum and the planners went for a solution halfway between that really pissed everybody off equally. Politics at its finest.

but that doent work either.i would say the number of people stuck in the traffic on holiday weekends would outnumber the population of Otaki.On such weekends the backup stretches nearly back to Levin

Or the Royal Oak one, it had 6 roads entering it before they closed one off. The traffic that used to use the closed off road now cuts through behind the old KFC and messes up the next road. Panmure also had 6 roads but they are doing something with that now.

Of course there is the Arc De Triomphe in Paris, traffic going around the circle gives way to traffic entering it. Fun ensues!!!

There are plenty more on Yewtoob! I spent about 15 minutes there years ago and saw 3 accidents, all minor because of the low speeds but was fun to watch.

Holiday weekend traffic?!? That's not really a case for tptb to get motivated.

I have considered burning Otaki to the ground, on several occasions. Stopped traffic from Levin, for those stupid cunting market days every Sunday.

True that. I've not used the western side of the lake for quite some time now as the Taupo Bypass negates any benefit there used to be prior to it's opening. The western lake road is also a hot-spot for speeding infringements, DAMHIK.
