lol I don't drink.... much... lol but that money would have paid for Sam's Rego faster, and paid for gas for the ride on Friday night that we missed out on

Last December I took three months leave without pay from work. Happily collected all my holiday pay (which I had been accumulating for well over a year) and went my merry way. Got a letter this week to say that they had only just realised that they had overpaid me in my holiday pay by nearly two thousand dollars and I now had to pay it back!!! I have the option of how I pay it back but don't want this bloody thing hanging over my head for the next year or so while I dribble it to them as it's going to be a debt when I apply for my next mortgage soon. So ......... guess I'm gunna have to fork it out.

Now I know I must have got it when it obviously wasn't mine (not that I took any notice at the time) but ................. finding out about it 8 months later!!! Ye Gods - what's with these people!

should keep track of your account, companies make mistake, you cant always rely on others to do all the thinking for you
I had similar problems in the past and delt with them as soon as I found out, if you spend and forget, someone will remeber,
with a bit of caution and honesty you wouldnt have it hanging over your head now

Theres a one stop shop for all this the Labour Department. It's all in the Wages and Salery Act. They will tell you what your rights are. The other point of call mabe the Banking Ombudsman. This office has some clout if it is indeed within their jurisdiction. No need to go to internet providers etc. They will all pass the buck.
