I thought I would try the wooden train wreck. 40 minutes later it was assembled, the ramp between the levels was almost vertical, the corners weren't square and the doors don't open without flexing the whole structure. Still the cat loves the warmed up green roof and the vantage point.
Bosslady - animal cage, bike part....if the quality is crap it's crap. I once bought cheap pattern spare brake and clutch levers for my race bike. After 1 year I needed to replace the front brake lever after dropping the bike. I fitted the new lever, tested the brakes before going onto track and the lever snapped at first use. I got a refund, no problems, but I was peeved that the lever was just junk.
I guess the lessong to learn is not to buy cheap stuff off the internet unless you know what quality you are getting. I previously saw a chicken coop online and saw the exact same model in RD1 for $200 more. RD1, bless em, were prepared to sell me the kit at a comparable price to internet+delivery so I kept it local and bought from them. This time the local business told me that to match the price it would be below their cost so wouldn't do it. Clearly though the pics were identical the product wasn't. I bought my new cage from the local shop, the quality was excellent.
I understand. What I mean is a crap animal cage ain't going to kill you. A cheap crappy bike part? maybe. Ain't comparing apples with apples. If someone chooses to get bike parts based solely on the price tag and nothing else, knowing it's so cheap and not exactly going to be of the highest quality, therefore knowing they might be putting themselves at risk or inconvenience, more fool them. You get what you pay for?
Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.
