Thumbs up My gorgeous Trixy is up for sale! '99 Yammy TRX 850

    G'day all,

I'm moving to London in a few months and currently have 3 vehicles... I was planning on holding onto the bike 'til the end but I'm just not using it so thought I'll put it up while it's still summer and somebody else can enjoy her!

Bike is a gorgeous NZ New '99 Yamaha TRX 850, you don't see too many around NZ so some may say it's a little unique.

Being NZ new the bike has original service manual and toolkit, along with servicing history as done by each owner. I'm only the third owner and love the fact that I can track every little service it's had along it's life. Over the past year I have done the brake pads, brake fluid, oil and filter changes - and have only managed to put about 5k on the clock unfortunately.

Baffles have been removed from pipes so the bike is, um, LOUD! Similar sounding to a VTR1000 or an SV1000, but is a parallel twin instead of v-twin.

Tyres are Michelin Pilot Road 2s with at least 50% tread, if not 75%, on them.

Has been fitted with a nice and loud horn for use when you really need to.

Absolute joy to ride, plenty of torque down low. Anybody who's ridden a TRX850 will be able to tell you how much fun they are. I have had fun blasting in front of Audi R8s and the such on motorway on ramps, the poor bastards who pay over 100k to get beaten by a 5k bike. Have had a few great trips up north with pillion on back as well, no problems whatsoever with power or comfort (ok maybe the girl's bum got a little tender from the lack of pillion seat padding).

I have the full Ventura pack rack kit, including L-brackets, grab handle, pack rack, Ventura waterproof pack, pannier racks and locking panniers -- to be all included in the sale!

Anyway, I'll throw up a pic for now and will take some more on a sunny day.

Bike will come with new rego and WOF.

    Is anybody interested in Trixy?

Anyone want to buy this and then swap for an XJR1300?

    Cheers mate.

Best bike I have ever owned, no doubt about it. No point leaving bikes in storage though when they're made to be ridden!!

Looks like I'll be riding the underground for the next wee while

Happy to swap a well looked after, recently serviced, low kms XJR1300 for it. You'll have to buy the TRX of course. Rob wants to sell it. That's kind of the point of the thread.

Good luck with your sale & good luck in Londinium, it's a tough, heartless city. Bloody eye opener, though. It pumps 24/7.
If I had the pesos I would be in, love that motor & it would make my g/f very happy. Unfortunately she needs more ticks on her licence.
Anybody who loves bikes with a heart & pulse should be looking your way.

Yup hopefully the right person on KB spies this thread, would rather sell on here than on Trademe.

Bugger twelve months too early, this time next year, and I would have seriously looked that that bike for that price, and ridden it home for xmass.
Oh well, good luck with the sale, better luck on your new adventures across the water.
