Auckland: Classes to teach newbies (retards) bike maintenance?

Did a quick search, couldn't find what I wanted. None of this mechanic-type stuff comes easy to me, in fact I'm finding it so hard trying to understand wtf my service manual is waffling on about that I cried . I want to eventually be competent enough to service my own bike but are there any courses to help with this? I'm capable of it but I'm no good at reading books, I need to be shown how to do it. Anyone know?

Most big collages have night school classes, do a small motor course, if they have one.

I've only ever seen them for cars, not bikes but worth another look

I've been using my flat mates tools, he has most things imaginable as he maintains his own bike, he just doesn't really want to help me with going over my bike. I'd like to be able to do stuff like change my own chain and stuff, some of the bike and the sprockets and that are filthy, I tried to clean them and they look better now but I'm more of a detail cleaner ya know... just want to give her a really good going over.

I'm free whenever kind of, I can't go anywhere with the bike for the next 8 days though as I have no one to mind my boys so it's stuck at home on the shore keen to get some help Graham but you'd need to have a lot of patience, I don't want to cry in front of you

Right ho! So your 8 days are up. Now I make my move and off the same thing (essentially) as Mr Graham. I'm free most of the time until about the end of Feb with a few exceptions in between. Mine or yours, doesn't matter too much as long as tools are avaliable. Bear in mind, at mine there is MOAR tools and stuff (probably)
