All Australian speed camera fines invalid?

Read the following article. [Story here]

Very interesting how the police were unable to prove that a given speed camera photo had not been altered after it was originally taken because they couldn't prove the integrity of their MD5 algorithm.

That means the last 15yrs worth of speeding tickets in Australia could be void!

The motorist who took the RTA (Roads and Traffic Authority) to court got their costs refunded as well.

Wonder if that also applies to our speed tickets over here?
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

The law probably will be altered (if it doesn't already say so) to make the speed cameras infallible. IIRC, police radar already enjoys this status here.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

It's only regarded as infallible because our lawyers lack the knowledge and/or motivation to point out it's flaws in court.
    Speed doesn't kill people.

Or the ability - the manufacturers of speed detection equipment refuse to give out tech detail, and the courts in many countries allow them to get away with it. The official line is "commercial sensitivity", but the truth may lie in the huge return on investment enjoyed by governments and local authorities (let us not forget that courts represent governments)

What? Even when the bloody radar said I was doing 230kph on my CBR in the middle of the day in themiddle of blenheim? Cop even told me it must be buggered
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I hope so, just got two tickets, one on the bike for 95 in an 80km zone, and one in the cage for 61 in a 50 zone. I'm writing away for the photograph from the "alleged" bike one!

There is no shortage of case history to show that there is no defense on technological fallibility. Case history forms common law, and common law says the gear is accurate. Tough shit for you if you get done for 230K on your clapped out C90 Honda...
